Our Path's Aligned
One humid August day, a beautiful brunette with a bright energy turned around to greet me as I passed through the center of campus. I was a shy young man walking quickly to studio. Her energy slowed my walk to a halt as my mind quickly became clear of all my stressful studio thoughts. We spent the rest of the day and late into the night together hanging out at the architecture building and sneaking into the football stadium late at night.
From our initial love, our relationship grew into a meaningful array of shared experiences through the lenses of architecture, nature, and family. I fell deeper in love as we explored the ancient and contemporary realms of architecture together. We looked up at the sky framed by the void at the Pantheon and felt the blending northern and southern light in the Nelson Atkins Art Museum. Nature confirmed our love as we helped each other through the slot canyons of Zion only to give each other the biggest hug after our final 100' rappel. Family completes our love as we spend cold Thanksgivings and Chanukahs in Kansas and warm Christmases in Gulfport. We wish to one day build our own family in the loving tradition that our parents have shown us.
Love is only so with commitment. I knew I had to show Kat my love in a grand way. I had to align our love, just as she had done on that humid August day when she stopped me in my path with those big loving eyes. On August 21st 2017 at 11:47 the moon passed between the Earth and the Sun causing a peaceful darkness to fall over us. I took Kat with her beautiful blonde hair by the hand, got down on one knee, and asked the young women that I had fallen so deeply in love with to marry me. She said yes.
